Riggit Galloway Beef at Kingsdale Head

The cattle that graze here at Kingsdale head farm play an important part in supporting a rich biodiversity. Our Riggit Galloway Cattle are known for their hardiness and ability to thrive on upland vegetation. They graze outside on the hill all year around leaving them free to express natural behaviours and forage across 608 hectares of diverse habitat throughout the year, keeping them healthy and happy.

Our Riggit Galloways grow in their own time, on a natural range of vegetation without supplementary grains. Studies have shown this diverse diet results in beef with lower levels of saturated fats and higher levels of Omega 3 as well as other vitamins and minerals. Galloway beef is also known for its texture and great flavour and because our cattle are given time to mature naturally they develop a deeper and more intense flavour.

We have a very small herd and as such produce a very limited amount of beef.

Boxes are available for delivery Tuesday the 19th of September. Boxes are delivered fresh and chilled in the day they arrive from the butchers but can be frozen for collection at Kingsdale Head at a time that suits.

Boxes will include a mixture of cuts representing the whole animal including hind and forequarter joints (2Kg), mince (1Kg), diced stewing steak (1Kg) and steaks (1kg). *Our animals are all different and the relative proportions of each cut and product will vary slightly allowing us to use all of the meat available. All boxes will be a minimum of 5kg and delivered to Mainland UK. We will send our fresh meat boxes chilled. We use a sustainable packaging shown to keep the product at fridge temperatures for 24 hours and beyond.

When your delivery arrives place straight into the fridge or freezerin its individual packaging. To thaw remove your item from the freezer and place at room temperature or in your fridge to gently thaw. Minimum of 10 days fridge life.
